Background
Michael was Associate to Chief Justice Murray Gleeson at the High Court of Australia in 2003.
Michael has a BA and LLB from Sydney University. He also has a BCL and M Phil in law from Oxford University, which he attended on a Rhodes scholarship.
Michael was previously a solicitor at Mallesons Stephen Jaques in Sydney and Herbert Smith in London, working in their commercial litigation and international arbitration divisions.
He has taught part-time at both Sydney and Oxford Universities in constitutional law, torts, equity and trusts.
Michael was admitted to the New South Wales Bar in 2005. He has served as a member of a Professional Conduct Committee of the Bar Association since 2010.
