Before coming to the Bar, Zelie practised in the Administrative Law Group and the Constitutional and Native Title Law Group at the New South Wales Crown Solicitor’s Office. She has been an associate to the Chief Justices of the High Court and the Federal Court and has lectured and tutored in Evidence Law at the University of Sydney and the University of Technology Sydney.

Zelie holds a Masters in Law from the University of Cambridge, where she studied on a John Monash Scholarship. She graduated from the University of Sydney with the University Medal in Law and was awarded the Highest Aggregate Mark in the June 2012 Bar Exams.

Zelie has a varied public and commercial law practice and has appeared in a wide range of courts and tribunals, including the High Court of Australia, the Federal Court of Australia, the New South Wales Court of Appeal, the New South Wales Supreme Court, the Land and Environment Court, the New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal, the Racing Appeals Tribunal, the Coroner’s Court and the Local Court.
