Alec Leopold SC
Mediator
- Now only accepting new work as a mediator.
- Admitted as a barrister in 1996 (following 12½ years as a litigation solicitor at Allens, including 7 years there as a partner).
- Appointed as senior counsel in 2007.
- From the beginning of 2025 (after 29 years as a barrister, including 18 years as senior counsel) ceased accepting new briefs as a barrister – “running off” existing briefs.
- Have mediated several matters since ceasing to accept new briefs as a barrister.
- I charge a flat rate of $8,000 per day (plus GST) for a mediation, however late it may finish and $800 per hour (plus GST) for preparation/reading of the material prior to the mediation (with a 3-hour maximum charge). Accordingly, my maximum charge for a one-day mediation is $10,400 plus GST.

- Class actions.
