Background

Joy accepts briefs in all areas of law.  She has a focus on commercial and public law.

Before coming to the Bar, Joy was a solicitor in the commercial litigation team at Gilbert + Tobin, where she acted for individuals, trustees and corporations in a broad range of first instance and appeal proceedings, covering contract law, class actions, corporate governance and commercial equity.  Joy was also a judge’s associate to the Hon Justice Jacqueline Gleeson in the High Court of Australia and Federal Court of Australia.

Joy received the Peteris Ginters Prize for the highest marks in the Ethics Bar Exam for 2025.
