Background

Tom is a leading commercial junior counsel, university medallist and former High Court associate.

He acts for leading individuals, companies and partnerships including, Mrs Gina Rinehart, Mr James Packer, CBA, Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd, Consolidated Press Holdings Ltd, Deutsche Bank, Telstra, Asciano, Aurizon, Colgate, Foxtel, Suncorp, UGL and KPMG. He has appeared for various governments, governmental bodies and sporting organisations, including the State of New South Wales, the Insurance Commission of Western Australia (in the Bell litigation), Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, V8 Supercars, and Godolphin.

He regularly appears unled in various courts and arbitrations and recently appeared unled in an ICC arbitration in Paris, successfully defending a claim brought against his clients in relation to an oil pipeline in Iran.
